Results of the Street Jumper Battle Double Dutch at La Villette 2026
On June 7, 2026, the Parc de la Villette hosted the very first edition of the Street Jumper Battle, a new event dedicated to 16+ double dutch freestyle, held as part of Freestyle Villette. Conceived by the collective The RopeStylers, this new battle format marks an important milestone in the development of double dutch as a fully recognized urban and sporting discipline.
For this inaugural edition, the event also took on an international dimension with the participation of athletes from Belgium, reinforcing the European openness of the freestyle scene. Through the intensity of the battles, the diversity of styles, and the energy of the crowd, this day laid the foundations for what is set to become a key annual gathering.
Introduction
Held on the dance floor of the Folie Belvédère, the Street Jumper Battle brought together athletes aged 16 and over in a demanding 1vs1 format, where each round is judged on musicality, creativity, technical execution, and the ability to engage in dialogue with the opponent.
This first edition highlighted a wide diversity of styles and a remarkably high level for a debut event. The audience at La Villette witnessed a succession of intense battles, driven by hip-hop music and strong interaction between performers and spectators.

The women’s category brought together 12 participants for this first international edition. Each battle showcased different approaches to freestyle within the ropes, balancing technical precision, risk-taking, and musical interpretation.
A memorable first women’s final
The final confirmed the athletes’ ability to adapt to a demanding competitive format while maintaining a strong individual identity. Commitment in execution and the quality of exchanges between opponents marked this inaugural edition.

With 16 participants, the men’s category delivered a dense and consistent level throughout the event. The battles were driven by fast exchanges and strong adaptability to musical variations.

The final highlighted very complementary profiles, illustrating the richness of contemporary double dutch freestyle. The audience praised the technical mastery and creativity displayed during key moments of the battles.
A first international edition of the Street Jumper Battle
This 2026 edition marks an important turning point: the Street Jumper Battle becomes an international event from its very first year, welcoming athletes from Belgium alongside French competitors.
This cross-cultural meeting helps strengthen artistic and technical exchanges around double dutch, while supporting the project’s ambition: to build a European platform dedicated to freestyle rope disciplines.
The 1vs1 format, open to all styles, allows each participant to express their personality freely, without distinction in level or aesthetic.
La Villette, an iconic setting for freestyle culture
As part of Freestyle Villette, the Street Jumper Battle takes place in a unique cultural environment in the heart of Paris. The Parc de la Villette and the Folie Belvédère provide an open space where sport, dance, and urban culture meet.
This iconic venue brings the audience closer to the performance and increases accessibility to double dutch for a wider public.
